I'm Jessi Goodman. I've spent 12 years in marketing and communications for nonprofits, public health orgs, and advocacy groups. I still do that work daily — campaigns, CRM migrations, stakeholder management. That work is where most of my thinking comes from.
I started Future Literate because the conversation about AI and mission-driven organizations was missing something. Lots of hype. Lots of fear. Not a lot of people asking: okay, but what does your team actually need to know? What breaks when you adopt this wrong? Who maintains it after the grant ends?
What you'll find here
Essays. Tools. Honest takes on technology and the work it's supposed to serve.
I'm the person who asks the challenging questions: What problem are we actually solving? What happens when this breaks? Who's going to maintain it? Does this align with how we want to show up in the world?
If you care about mission-driven work and want to be intentional about how technology fits into it, you're in the right place.
